Improving broiler performance at market age regardless of stocking density by using a pre-starter diet

چکیده

Broiler early nutrition has caught the attention of nutritionists due to positive correlation between growth rate and market weight. Early strategies such as low Ca levels or use highly digestible ingredients (e.g., spray-dried porcine plasma [SDPP]) have been reported improve gut muscle development, immunity, overall bird. On other hand, recent works suggested that stocking density represents main constrain for modern chickens express their full genetic potential. The current study aimed elucidate potential effects pre-starter feeding on contrasting livestock densities. followed a factorial design 2 starter programs (standard [0–11d] vs. [0–4 d] + standard [4–11 d]) by 3 densities (low, medium, high, 27, 33, 39 kg/BW/m2, respectively). Birds placed at showed higher BW better FCR than those high (P < 0.05) being this evident only after d 28. birds fed diet led 4 0.001) were maintained until age (+2.54%; P 0.05). also heavier carcasses (+2.2%; 0.05), improved uniformity 0.10) lower incidence lameness compared diet. Results confirm that, regardless used, diets (0–4 d) could lead

Stocking Density – Factor of Production Performance, Quality and Broiler Welfare

Significance of stocking density in broiler production i.e. production performance, vitality and health condition of chickens, was established at the beginning of development of industrial poultry production. However, considering intensive development of selection work and creation of more productive genotypes which, at the same time, were more demanding in regard to rearing conditions, the cur...

Effect of Diet Dilution in the Starter Period on Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Broiler Chicks

The effect of energy and protein dilution in the starter period (8 to 14 days) of age, on performance and carcass characteristics of 360 Arian male chicks was studied in a completely randomised design. This experiment consisted of 6 treatments, 4 replicates, with 15 chicks per replicate. In order to dilute the diets six levels (0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20) percent of ground wood charcoal was used. ...

Effects of stocking density on the growth performance and digestive microbiota of broiler chickens.

Increased stocking densities are frequently reported to depress chicken growth performance, but the mechanisms behind this are not fully understood. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of stocking density on growth performance and digestive microbiota, known to be sensitive to environmental factors. Chickens were reared at 2 stocking densities, 12 or 17 birds/m(2). Growth perfor...
