Improvement on Mechanical Properties of Submerged Friction Stir Joining of Dissimilar Tailor Welded Aluminum Blanks

Friction stir welding is a solid-state method that produces joints with superior mechanical and metallurgical properties. However, the negative effects of thermal cycle during dent performance weld joint. Hence, in this research study, joining aluminum tailor welded blanks by friction carried out underwater conditions varying parameters. The tensile tests revealed samples showed better results when compared to air samples. Maximum strength 229.83 MPa was obtained at 1000 rpm, 36 mm/min. improved credited suppression precipitation secondary precipitates due cooling action provided water. lowest hardness 72 HV edge zone which indicated weakest region zone.
