Improvement of Fire Blight Blossom Infection Control Using Maryblyt in Korean Apple Orchards

After transitioning from periodic to model-based control policy for fire blight blossom infection, it is crucial provide the timing of field application with easy and accurate information. To assess risk <i>Maryblyt</i> was employed in 31 sites across apple-producing regions nationwide, including areas prone outbreaks, 2021 2023. In 2023, two seven experienced Blossom Infection Risk-Infection warning occurrences among sites, respectively. However, 2022, most observed April 25 28, highlighting need infection control. For comparison between approaches, we established treatment 1, which involved measures according 2, aimed at maintaining Epiphytic Potential below 100. The analysis values these treatments revealed that 2 more effective reducing number days above 100, respective averages 95.6% 93.0% over three years. Since implementation K-Maryblyt system deployment Automated Weather Stations capable measuring orchard weather conditions, an average 10 stations per major apple county have taken place. These advancements will enable provision timely information farmers based on models future.
