Dead-zone in the valve degraded performances of Electro-Pneumatic Actuator (EPA) system. It makes system difficult to control, become unstable and leads chattering effect nearest desired position. In order cater this issue, EPA transfer function dead-zone model is identified by MATLAB SI toolbox Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm respectively. Then a parametric control designed based on pole-placement approach combine with feed-forward inverse compensation. To reduce effect, smooth parameter added controller output. The advantages using these techniques are reduced. Moreover, improves transient performance. results compared (1) without compensator (2) conventional compensator. Based experimental results, proposed reduced due output compensation, 90% steady-state error 30% 40% compensation settling time rise time.
