چکیده
To obtain a high-quality Al/steel dissimilar joint, micro-groove-assisted vortex-friction stir lap welding (MG-VFSLW) process was developed. Through prefabricating micro-grooves on the steel plate surface by laser ablation, mechanical interlock and metallurgical bonding were obtained simultaneously in MG-VFSLW process. The weld formation, interface microstructure, properties, failure mode studied comparing them with those VFSLW. results showed that line load of AA5083/SUS304 joint up to 485.9 N/mm MG-VFSLW, which is 40.1% higher than Remarkable intermetallic compound layers cracks found closely related oxides interface. However, cross-riveting aluminum rivets formed due flashes made ablation. Good also between AA5083 SUS304. No remarkable occurred. During tensile shear tests, cut off some dimples tear ridges existed fracture surface. In short, high strength attributed bonding.

متن کاملFriction stir welding of dissimilar alloys – a perspective
Friction stir welding does not involve bulk melting of the components that are joined. This has inspired attempts to exploit it for joining materials which differ in properties, chemical composition or structure, and where fusion can lead to detrimental reactions. The purpose of this special issue of Science and Technology of Welding and Joining was to assess the status of friction stir welding...
