چکیده
Abstract This study evaluates changes in simulated Pacific climate between two ECMWF re-analyses; the ERA Interim (ERAI) and newest ERA5. Changes Integrated Forecasting System (IFS) possibly sea surface temperature result greatly reduced discrepancies ERA5’s ice water path (IWP), radiative fluxes precipitation relative to satellite-based observational products. IWP shows largest percentage change, increasing by over 300% from ERAI ERA5, due inclusion of falling (snow) that impacts calculation. ERA5 high-cloud fraction are generally anticorrelated as expected with outgoing longwave radiation, having smaller versus CERES observations compared ERAI. European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) ERA-Interim reanalysis total precipitation estimates are validated against ten years of in situ precipitation measurements onboard of ships over the Baltic Sea. A statistical analysis for binary forecasts and mean rain rates derived from all data show a good agreement with observations. However, a closer look reveals an underestimation ...

Deficiency and inappropriate distribution of reengage station is one of challenges faced by researchers in hydrology and climate science. In this research, evaluate the applicability of four gridded precipitation data products ERA-Interim, PERSIANN-CDR, PERSIANN-CCS and CRU as a supplement or substitute for ground data in a monthly time scales. This assessment was done by comparison with observ...
متن کاملENSO surface longwave radiation forcing over the tropical Pacific
We have studied the spatial and temporal variation of the surface longwave radiation (downwelling and net) over a 21-year period in the tropical and subtropical Pacific Ocean (40 S–40 N, 90 E-75 W). The fluxes were computed using a deterministic model for atmospheric radiation transfer, along with satellite data from the ISCCP-D2 database and reanalysis data from NCEP/NCAR (acronyms explained i...

متن کاملENSO surface shortwave radiation forcing over the tropical Pacific
We have studied the spatial and temporal variation of the downward shortwave radiation (DSR) at the surface of the Earth during ENSO events for a 21-year period over the tropical and subtropical Pacific Ocean (40 S–40 N, 90 E–75 W). The fluxes were computed using a deterministic model for atmospheric radiation transfer, along with satellite data from the ISCCP-D2 database, reanalysis data from ...
