Testing of Buried Pipelines Using Guided Waves
Introduction The inspection requirements of pipes that have an operational history of many tens of years have lead to the adoption of new maintenance practices and safety standards. The solution currently considered as best maintenance practice is the direct assessment of 100% of the pipelines with the minimum possible economical impact. The use of RBI (Risk Based Inspection) methods and the in...
متن کاملTexture defect detection using the adaptive two-dimensional lattice filter
In this paper, the eight parameter two-dimensional adaptive lattice filter is used to detect defects in textures corresponding to raw textile fabrics. A novel histogram modification technique is also applied for pre-processing the grey level texture image. Moreover, with the proposed scheme, it is possible to detect defects using the defective image only.
متن کاملAutomated Detection of Architectural Distortion Using Improved Adaptive Gabor Filter
Architectural distortion in mammography is the most missing finding for radiologists, despite high malignancy. Many research groups have developed methods for automated detection of architectural distortion. However, improvement of their detection performance is desired. In this study, we developed a novel method for automated detection of architectural distortion in mammograms. To detect the m...
متن کاملImproved Single Image Dehazing Using Guided Filter
Single image dehazing is challenging because it is massively ill-posed. Haze removal based on dark channel prior is effective, but refining the transmission map with closed-form matting is computationally expensive. Recent work discovered that using guided filter to refine the transmission map is feasible. In this paper, we elaborate single image dehazing by combining dark channel prior and gui...
متن کاملextremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude
a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...
