Improved Clonal Propagation through Rejuvenation of Mature Branch Cutting of Four Important Acacia Species

چکیده
Asexual propagation techniques for producing good quality germplasm breeding and dissemination purposes have proven difficult acacia species comprised of mature planting material. The study was conducted to the effect rejuvenation on rooting ability cuttings. Shoots were induced from lower branch by cutting a part crown leaving it horizontally bench under misting system. harvested further used as stem cuttings evaluate their through application hormone. is highly variable among species. percentage sections juvenile shoots similar Acacia mangium Willd. (88%) auriculiformis A.Cunn. ex Benth. (90%). Only 52% able produce crassicarpa Benth., followed aulococarpa with only 31%. Overall, A. rooted better recorded highest mean value all traits tested. Hormone treatment significantly enhances mangium. However, did not respond well treatment. Rejuvenated than cuttings, tested in species, or without hormone Results indicated that possible rejuvenate bud break controlled environment.

Clonal Propagation of Acacia koa
Introduction Koa (Acacia koa) is currently the most important commercialized hardwood in Hawai'r's forests. A sustainable supply of koa will depend on reforestation with the best adapted seed sources and perhaps with vegetatively propagated cultivars having unique traits. At present, koa forests are in a serious state of decline, and improvement appears warranted if sustainable supply is to be ...
متن کاملMicro Propagation of Eucalyptus globules Through Mature Trees
Eucalyptus globulus is an important rapid-growing trees in Eucalypts that applied for agroforestry and tree improvement programs. It has been used as a source of pulp in paper industry, essential oil and honey production. Asexual propagation with conventional methods such as cutting and graft wasnot possible or obtained success was very low, because of hard proliferation of adventitious roots. ...
متن کاملStandardization of Clonal Macropropagation Protocol of Dillenia pentagyna Roxb an Important and Endangered Medicinal Tree Species through Stem Branch Cuttings
Dillenia pentagyna belongs to family Dilleniaceae, is commonly known as Karkat. It is small deciduous tree reaching up to the height of 10-12 m with a straight bole. The species is distributed throughout in India including Andaman & Nicobar. It is highly important medicinal tree species. Its leaves, fruits and bark show antibacterial, antialpha glucosidase and antioxidant property. Due to its h...
متن کاملChanges in foliar spectral reflectance and chlorophyll fluorescence of four temperate species following branch cutting.
Spectral reflectance and chlorophyll fluorescence are rapid non-invasive methods that can be used to quantify plant stress. Because variation in ambient light (e.g., diurnal patterns of solar radiation) may have a confounding effect on these measurements, branches are often excised in the field and then measured under controlled conditions in the laboratory. We studied four temperate tree speci...
متن کاملPathogenicity of Four Fusarium Species on Acacia Koa Seedlings
Fusarium isolates obtained from diseased koa plants, rhizosphere soil and seeds/seedcoats may or may not be pathogenic on young seedlings under greenhouse conditions. This includes isolates of F. oxysporum, the putative cause of koa wilt/dieback disease in Hawaii. We tested ten Fusarium isolates, comprising four different species, for their pathogenic potential on Acacia koa seedlings under gre...
