Impression Management and Employee Contextual Performance in Service Organizations (Enterprises)

This study aims to investigate the effect of impression management on employee contextual performance in service organizations using quantitative methods. The social influence theory, which explains role superior over subordinate, served as theoretical underpinning for study. A cross-sectional survey design was adopted line with positivism research philosophy. accessible population this consists one hundred selected service-oriented firms (four-star hotels, fast food restaurants, and travel agencies) operating southern part Nigeria. sample middle managers, human resource front desk officers, housekeepers, customer relationship managers. Frequency distribution used analyze participants’ profiles, while linear regression employed formulated hypotheses. Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0 statistical software. Linear results suggest that self-promotion exerted a significant positive co-worker support. Ingratiation demonstrated satisfaction. It appears exemplification enterprise compliance. outcome has traditional managerial skills can no longer hold water contemporary because workplace's dynamic changing technological structure. concludes assist managers influencing their employees positively achieve organizational objectives.
