چکیده

Abstract This study examines the role of relative wind (RW) effect (wind to ocean current) in regional circulation and extratropical storm track South Indian Ocean. Comparison two high-resolution coupled model simulations with/without RW reveals that most conspicuous response is significant weakening overly energetic anticyclonic standing eddy off Port Elizabeth, Africa, a biased feature ascribed upstream retroflection Agulhas Current (AC). opens pathway through which AC transports warm salty water mass from subtropics, yielding marked increases sea surface temperature (SST), upward turbulent heat flux (THF), meridional SST gradient region. These thermodynamic dynamic changes are accompanied by robust strengthening local low-tropospheric baroclinicity baroclinic wave activity atmosphere. Examination composite lifecycle synoptic-scale storms subjected high THF events indicates far downstream. Energetics calculations for atmosphere suggest energy conversion basic flow chief source increased available potential energy, subsequently converted kinetic providing growth transient waves. Overall, results mechanical thermal air-sea interactions inherently inextricably linked together substantially influence tracks

Ocean Currents Modeling along the Iranian Coastline of the Oman Sea and the Northern Indian Ocean

The Makran Coast (Iranian Coastline of the Oman Sea on the Northern Indian Ocean) plays an important role in country’s future navigation and trade due to its accessibility. In 2014, the Iranian Makran coastline was selected by the PMO to be studied as the Phase 6 in the series of Monitoring and Modelling Studies of Iranian Coasts with all disciplines being in investigated including currents. Al...

3D Modeling of Wind-Driven Circulation In The Northern Indian Ocean During Monsoon

Abstract The purpose of this research is to design and identify some of the natures and characteristics of high-resolution surface currents in the Northern Indian Ocean. The pattern of 3D circulation of the Wind-driven surface currents, Sea surface temperature (SST) and Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) distribution in the Northern Indian Ocean using The MIT general circulation model (MITgcm) with ho...

Configuration of a Southern Ocean Storm Track

Diagnostics of ocean variability that reflect and influence local transport properties of heat and chemical species vary by an order of magnitude along the Southern Ocean’s Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). Topographic ‘‘hotspots’’ are important regions of localized transport anomalies. This study uses a primitive equation channel model to investigate the structure of eddy kinetic energy (EK...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...
