چکیده
A key consideration in physical modeling of seismic problems geotechnical engineering is the impact model container boundaries on soil layer response. The may alter stress-strain behavior from free-field conditions through possible reflection incident shear waves and generation P-waves within layers. In this study, 1-g shaking table experiments were performed to evaluate impacts boundary response saturated loose sand layers subjected harmonic base motions (1) in a condition, (2) with shallow foundation, (3) with foundation supporting single degree freedom superstructure. formed newly fabricated laminar that can be converted rigid box by adding elements end walls. Acceleration, excess pore water pressure, settlement measurements demonstrate rigidity have major models. particular, observed permanent foundations increased 58–115 % models with fixed-end (or rigid) compared those flexible conditions. This was attributed nonuniformity strains near higher level energy trapped inside model. Furthermore, spectral accelerations captured tests Scaling issues associated testing also discussed.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Performance of Rocking Systems on Shallow Improved Sand: Shaking Table Testing
Recent studies have highlighted the potential benefits of inelastic foundation response during seismic shaking. According to an emerging seismic design scheme, termed rocking isolation, the foundation is intentionally under-designed to promote rocking and limit the inertia transmitted to the structure. Such reversal of capacity design may improve the seismic performance, drastically increasing ...

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...
