Impacts of climate variability on the production of Dwarf x Tall and Tall x Tall coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) palm hybrids planted on the coast in Côte d'Ivoire

The Ivorian coast is the main coconut production area where agriculture mainly rainfed. However, in this area, climate variability poses a great threat to growth and sustainable development of agriculture. This study aimed at highlighting impacts on most popular Dwarf x Tall palm hybrids world. It based evaluation from statistical tests (ANOVA, STUDENT's T-test 5%) results standardized precipitation evapotranspiration indices (SPEI) during period 2009 2018 area. obtained revealed that NJM×GOA+ hybrid was significantly differentiated by its good potential bunches (10 bunches), fruits (151 nuts) copra (3.69 t). maximum fruit per year observed × (101 nuts). highest mass productions tree hectare were recorded hybrids. ten 2012, 2015 lowest 2014 2017. Productions gradually increase or remain stable for consecutive wet years (2009 2011) prior harvest. onset drought one (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) pronounced two dry (2012 2013 harvest decrease level production. These cumulative effects are NRC×GRL+, NRM×GTN, NJM×GD001, NJM×GD002, NJM×GD003 NJM×GOA+, GVT×GTN, GSL×GTN, NRM×GVT, NVS×GVT developing abilities express themselves better under variability. They could be taken into account crop improvement program proposed growers improve yield trees rainfed conditions.
