Impact of Women and Independent Directors on Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance: Empirical Evidence from an Emerging Economy

The purpose of our study is to investigate the impact women and independent directors on corporate social responsibility financial performance. We use fixed effect regression model as a baseline methodology. data set includes information from 2010 2019 regarding Chinese non-financial companies, which we yearly information. RSK rating used for assessment reporting, ranging 0 100, other are taken China stock market accounting research (CSMAR) database. two-stage least square (TSLS) control possible problem endogeneity. empirical results show that gender diversity in boards significantly positively affects CSR reporting. do not find an due non-executive presence board mostly trivial case China, they have much influence with regard decision making, especially related variables, such size, member meeting frequency leverage, also found significant Therefore, add new aspect emerging literature China.
