Impact of Watermelon bud necrosis virus (WBNV) infected plants on the volatile emission pattern in cowpea plants

چکیده
Pathogens, including tospoviruses, are known to manipulate the behaviour of vectors after virus acquisition by plants enhance transmission. Furthermore, as recently proven in maize chlorotic mottle pathosystem, vector's choice for virus-infected can change a preference noninfected uptake vector. A similar trend was observed cowpea - Watermelon Bud Necrosis Virus (WBNV) Thrips palmi (Karny) pathosystem. Similarly, no-choice bioassay, viruliferous T.palmi (carrying WBNV) settled preferentially more on healthy (56%) compared (47.3%), whereas non-viruliferous WBNV infected (58.67%) (44%). The changes thrips towards host before and may be due volatile cues. This study looked at headspace composition WBNV-infected that attract thrips. analysis revealed 1, 2-Propanediamine (0.62%) Tuaminoheptane (0.55%) from plants, well Tetradecane (0.35%) both have higher area percent than other volatiles. amine (53%) hydrocarbon (69%) groups organic compounds make up majority volatiles found plants. increased contact rates could transmission if feed them acquire pathogen prior dispersal recorded might useful vector management future.

Effect of Temperature on Symptoms Expression and Viral RNA Accumulation in Groundnut Bud Necrosis Virus Infected Vigna unguiculata
Background: Groundnut bud necrosis virus (GBNV) (Tospovirus genus, Bunyaviridae family) infects the major crops of solanaceae, leguminosae and cucurbitaceae in India. Temperature is an important factor which influences the plant growth and development under diseased conditions. Objective: In the present study, we evaluated the effect of four different temp...
متن کاملImmunodiagnosis of groundnut and watermelon bud necrosis viruses using polyclonal antiserum to recombinant nucleocapsid protein of Groundnut bud necrosis virus.
In vitro gene expression strategy was used for the production of polyclonal antiserum to the nucleocapsid protein (NP) of Groundnut bud necrosis virus (GBNV). The GBNV NP gene from cowpea isolate was cloned into 6x His-tagged UA cloning vector and expressed in Escherichia coli [M15] cells. The fusion protein was detected in insoluble fraction and was purified by using Ni-NTA agarose resin. The ...
