چکیده

Background: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the orthopedic procedures that are both economical and routinely successful. THA offers dependable benefits for patients with end-stage degenerative osteoarthritis (OA), including pain alleviation, functional recovery, overall better quality life. Methods: This was a retrospective study which conducted on who visited hospital's outpatient department received also revisions THA, were included. The reasons analyzed their studied. studied according to various approaches based surgery, such as, straight lateral, anterolateral, posterolateral, anterior sizes divided into three groups 22-28 mm, 32 36 mm. Results: posterolateral approach (n=40) used majority THAs, followed by lateral (n=35), (n=25), anterolateral (n=20) approaches. 22.5% THAs done 36-mm head. Each reason different size heads have been statistically analyzed. During six-year follow-up, this (unadjusted) risk 1.15% femoral measuring 22 28 32-mm had considerably decreased revision dislocation (0.75%), compared (0.55%). Conclusions: concluded at approach, experienced dislocations more frequently it has found using mm head dislocations.

Effect of femoral head size and surgical approach on risk of revision for dislocation after total hip arthroplasty

Background and purpose - Recurrent dislocation is the commonest cause of early revision of a total hip arthropasty (THA). We examined the effect of femoral head size and surgical approach on revision rate for dislocation, and for other reasons, after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Patients and methods - We analyzed data on 166,231 primary THAs and 3,754 subsequent revision THAs performed between...

Effect of femoral head size on risk of revision for dislocation after total hip arthroplasty

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Previous population-based registry studies have shown that larger femoral head size is associated with reduced risk of revision for dislocation. However, the previous data have not included large numbers of hip resurfacing arthroplasties or large metal-on-metal (> 36-mm) femoral head arthroplasties. We evaluated the association between femoral component head size and the ...

Measuring the Impact of Femoral Head Size on Dislocation Rates Following Total Hip Arthroplasty

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate if the femoral head's size has an impact on dislocation rates following total hip arthroplasty (THA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Five hundreds forty-three THA performed using a posterolateral approach in our hospital and followed up more than 6 months were included in this study. We evaluated dislocation rates based on the size of femoral head (28 ...

Comparison of Total Hip Arthroplasty and Core Decompression in Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head after Taking Temgesic and Norgesic

Background: Osteonecrosis is common after taking Temgesic and Norgesic. This study intended to suggest the preferable surgical treatment in osteonecrosis patients who use these drugs. Methods: Twenty tree patients with hip osteonecrosis who were hospitalized in the Kerman hospitals after using Temgesic and Norgesic were followed for about 14 months from 2008 to 2010 (from a minimum of 2 months ...

The risk of revision due to dislocation after total hip arthroplasty depends on surgical approach, femoral head size, sex, and primary diagnosis

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The effects of patient-related and technical factors on the risk of revision due to dislocation after primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) are only partly understood. We hypothesized that increasing the femoral head size can reduce this risk, that the lateral surgical approach is associated with a lower risk than the posterior and minimally invasive approaches, and that g...
