چکیده

This paper considers the uplink performance of a multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system with mobile users. Mobility brings two major problems to MIMO-OFDM system: inter carrier interference (ICI) and channel aging. In practice, it is common allot multiple contiguous subcarriers user as well schedule users on each subcarrier. Motivated by this, we consider general subcarrier allocation scheme derive expressions for ICI power, signal plus noise ratio achievable sum-rate, taking into account due We show that incurs near-constant power depends linearly number per user, nearly independently how UEs distribute their across subcarriers. Further, exploit coherence bandwidth reduce length pilot sequences required estimation. both zero-forcing maximal-ratio combining at receiver compare respective sum-rate performances. either case, proposed leads significantly higher sum-rates compared previous work, owing property reduced overhead.

Performance of Uplink Multiuser Massive MIMO Systems

We study the performance of uplink transmission in a large-scale (massive) MIMO system, where all the transmitters have single antennas and the receiver (base station) has a large number of antennas. Specifically, we analyze achievable degrees of freedom of the system without assuming channel state information at the receiver. Also, we quantify the amount of power saving that is possible with i...

Subcarrier and Power Joint Allocation on the Uplink of Multiuser OFDM Systems

In this paper, we study the subcarriers and power joint allocation on the uplink of multiuser OFDM systems. We propose two subcarrier allocation schemes to improve the uplink capacity: Exhausted Best Channel Allocation(EBCA) and Rounded Best User Allocation(RBUA). The basic idea of EBCA is that subcarriers choose the user, while in RBUA users choose subcarriers. In order to improve the uplink c...

Multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems using subcarrier hopping

Recently space division multiple access (SDMA) assisted multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems invoking multiuser detection (MUD) techniques have attracted substantial research interest, which is capable of exploiting both transmitter multiplexing gain and receiver diversity gain. A new scheme referred to here as slowsubcarrierhopping (SS...

Multiuser SM-MIMO versus Massive MIMO: Uplink Performance Comparison

In this paper, we propose algorithms for signal detection in large-scale multiuser spatial modulation multipleinput multiple-output (SM-MIMO) systems. In large-scale SMMIMO, each user is equipped with multiple transmit antennas (e.g., 2 or 4 antennas) but only one transmit RF chain, and the base station (BS) is equipped with tens to hundreds of (e.g., 128) receive antennas. In SM-MIMO, in a giv...

Adaptive Subcarrier Allocation and Bit Loading for Multiuser OFDM Systems

This paper proposes a new algorithm of adaptive subcarrier allocation and bit loading for simultaneous voice and data transmission in multiuser OFDM systems. The algorithm dynamically assigns the number of subcarriers and bits/per symbol on each subcarrier for each user in a single cell. To cope with the stringent delay requirement of voice service, the subcarriers with low channel gains are as...
