Impact of Respiratory Gating on Hemodynamic Parameters from 4D Flow MRI

چکیده

The hemodynamic parameters from 4D flow datasets have shown promising diagnostic value in different cardiovascular pathologies. However, the behavior of these can be affected when data are corrupted by respiratory motion. purpose this work was to perform a quantitative comparison between computed cardiac MRI both with and without self-gating. We considered 15 healthy volunteers (10 men 5 women, 30.40 ± 6.23 years age) that were acquired at 3T. Using semiautomatic segmentation process aorta, we obtained MRI, A statistical analysis, using Wilcoxon signed-rank test Bland–Altman, performed compare acquisitions. found calculations self-gating showed underestimated values aortic arch, descending diaphragmatic aorta. also significant variability ascending aorta comparing methods. requires compensation provide reliable parameters.

Creating hemodynamic atlases of cardiac 4D flow MRI

PURPOSE Hemodynamic atlases can add to the pathophysiological understanding of cardiac diseases. This study proposes a method to create hemodynamic atlases using 4D Flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The method is demonstrated for kinetic energy (KE) and helicity density (Hd ). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirteen healthy subjects underwent 4D Flow MRI at 3T. Phase-contrast magnetic resonance c...

Comparison of respiratory motion suppression techniques for 4D flow MRI.

PURPOSE The purpose of this work was to assess the impact of respiratory motion and to compare methods for suppression of respiratory motion artifacts in 4D Flow MRI. METHODS A numerical 3D aorta phantom was designed based on an aorta velocity field obtained by computational fluid mechanics. Motion-distorted 4D Flow MRI measurements were simulated and several different motion-suppression tech...

Characterisation of respiratory motion extracted from 4D MRI

Nuclear Medicine (NM) imaging is currently the most sensitive approach for functional imaging of the human body. However, in order to achieve high-resolution imaging, one of the factors degrading the detail or apparent resolution in the reconstructed image, namely respiratory motion, has to be overcome. All respiratory motion correction approaches depend on some assumption or estimate of respir...

4D flow imaging with MRI.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an important tool for the clinical evaluation of patients with cardiovascular disease. Since its introduction in the late 1980s, 2-dimensional phase contrast MRI (2D PC-MRI) has become a routine part of standard-of-care cardiac MRI for the assessment of regional blood flow in the heart and great vessels. More recently, time-resolved PC-MRI with veloci...

Assessment of turbulent viscous stress using ICOSA 4D Flow MRI for prediction of hemodynamic blood damage

Flow-induced blood damage plays an important role in determining the hemodynamic impact of abnormal blood flow, but quantifying of these effects, which are dominated by shear stresses in highly fluctuating turbulent flow, has not been feasible. This study evaluated the novel application of turbulence tensor measurements using simulated 4D Flow MRI data with six-directional velocity encoding for...
