چکیده

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an important pathogen that frequently associated with nosocomial infections. The goal of this work was to determine the relationship between quorum sensing system (QS) and production virulence factors in P. aeruginosa. A number 100 isolates were collected from various clinical sources different Mansoura university hospitals period April 2018 till 2019. PCR screening QS genes carried out including lasI, lasR, rhlI rhlR. Thereafter, assay established biofilm formation, pyocyanin production, protease lipase hemolysin as well swimming motility. Finally, statistical analysis data performed confirm factors. Out isolates, 27 deficient. revealed 8 lacked lasR gene, 15 rhlR genes, 1 isolate lasI 2 rhlR, genes. There a significant decrease observed pyocyanin, protease, lipase, formation motility deficient comparison non-QS ones. clear association This could open door for novel promising targets developing new therapeutic strategies against infections caused by pathogen.

inhibition of quorum sensing-controlled virulence factor production in pseudomonas aeruginosa by quercus infectoria gall extracts

background and objectives: this study was designed to evaluate the activity of quercus infectoria galls extract (qifge) on virulence factor production and inhibition of quorum sensing (qs) in pseudomonas aeruginosa. materials and methods: minimum inhibitory concentration (mic) of qifge against 5 strains of p. aeruginosa was determined. the extract at sub-mic was used to determine biofilm format...

Effect of Cinnamon Oil on Quorum Sensing-Controlled Virulence Factors and Biofilm Formation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Quorum sensing (QS) is a system of stimuli and responses in bacterial cells governed by their population density, through which they regulate genes that control virulence factors and biofilm formation. Despite considerable research on QS and the discovery of new antibiotics, QS-controlled biofilm formation by microorganisms in clinical settings has remained a problem because of nascent drug res...

Quorum Sensing in Microbial Virulence

Cell-to cell communication occurs via a signaling pathway referred to as quorum sensing. There are four main types of these systems according to the chemical nature of signal molecules used by microorganisms to elicit expression of target genes in response to environmental stimuli or need of microbial communities. Type I system acts by using acyl homoserine lactones as signals to trigger the ex...

Effects of allicin on the formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofinm and the production of quorum-sensing controlled virulence factors.

The Gram-negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterial pathogen is reputed for its resistance to multiple antibiotics, and this property is strongly associated with the development of biofilms. Bacterial biofilms form by aggregation of microorganisms on a solid surface and secretion of an extracellular polysaccharide substances that acts as a physical protection barrier for the encased bacteria. In...
