Impact of meteorological drought on vegetation in non-irrigated lands

Drought is a natural phenomenon that causes lot of damages annually in various sectors, including agriculture and resources. The aim this study to evaluate the influence meteorological drought index on vegetation index. For purpose, standard precipitation (SPI) as calculated using data 28 stations located area Lorestane province, Iran, during years 1987–2017. Then, condition (VCI) computed normalized difference (NDVI) images obtained from MODIS Terra satellite 2000–2017. Dry, normal, wet were based SPI results for 2008, 2013, 2016, respectively. VCI correlated Pearson's correlation method. relationship between showed highest Pearson coefficient related 9-month November was equal 0.64. Multivariate linear regression also performed VCI, significantly with at 5% level over period 9 12 months. Finally, confusion matrix used compliance classes. Results had moderate class SPI.
