چکیده

The present study was conducted to assess selected galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) effects on short-chain acids (SCFA), microbiota variability in vitro, and health benefits using an animal model. In the in-vitro anaerobic batch, fermentation applied different groups divided by a varied amount of GOS sources, mixtures, prebiotics. Results reported that SCFA for inulin contributed significantly higher acetic, propionic, butyric acids, resistant starch (RS) showed non-significant effect acetic propionic whereas combined RS values parameters. For bacterial enumeration bifidobacteria compared individual GOS, synergistic were documented. Sprague-Dawley rats given under western diet influence relative high-fat alone observed after 1 4 weeks documented significant levels acid production, body organ weights cecum tend increase dietary intervention (p<0.05). Microbiome data gene sequencing revealed proportion firmicutes lower Bacteroides control rats, which means Lachnospiraceae family abundances HF+GOS group. Overall, increment bifidobacterial population raise fed alone, variation microbiome diversity intervention.

Fermentation properties and potential prebiotic activity of Bimuno® galacto-oligosaccharide (65 % galacto-oligosaccharide content) on in vitro gut microbiota parameters

Prebiotic oligosaccharides have the ability to generate important changes in the gut microbiota composition that may confer health benefits to the host. Reducing the impurities in prebiotic mixtures could expand their applications in food industries and improve their selectivity and prebiotic effect on the potential beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. This study aimed t...

Impact of Novel Prebiotic Galacto-Oligosaccharides on Various Biomarkers of Colorectal Cancer in Wister Rats

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths around the globe. Bioactive food ingredients such as prebiotics have protective potential in colon cancer. Data on galacto-oligosaccharides (GalOS) against CRC are very limited and GalOS used in this study have β-1,6 and β-1,3 as major glycosidic linkages and, to our best knowledge, were never used before against any cancer t...
