Immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma in liver transplant patients (Literature review)

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, accounting for more than 800,000 deaths annually. Surgical removal neoplasm remains most effective treatment option. Partial liver resection an adequate solution patients without cirrhosis or with well-compensated cirrhosis, orthotopic transplantation necessary in early stage HCC on background cirrhosis. Tumor recurrence a major limitation long-term survival after transplantation. Posttransplant immunosuppression reduces body's antitumor defense, which provided by natural immunity. This contributes to development and progression tumor process. Purpose study: analyze domestic foreign publications that present options Literature sources were searched PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, MEDLINE, eLibrary databases. The search was conducted Russian English keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, immune checkpoint therapy relapse, transplantation, RETREAT index, regorafenib, nivolumab. authors presented review data use inhibitors prevent recurrence. results analysis literature showed issue post-transplant relevant. large number studies clinical case reviews leaves hope way recurrent will soon be found.
