چکیده

Background: Cervical carcinoma is the third most common cancer in women worldwide and firth cause of related deaths. Human Papilloma virus, cervical cancer, causes functional inactivation pRb, resulting overexpression p16INK4a. The p16INK4a correlates well with degree dysplasia neoplasia. present study done to determine IHC expression so that it may be used as a biomarker for HPV play role prevention, diagnosis prognosis neoplasm. Methods: was conducted on 60 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens neoplasms, which comprised 47 cases squamous cell followed by 8 adenocarcinoma, 3 HSIL 2 LSIL. These were then subjected Cytoplasmic nuclear positivity noted. Results: Overall 95% positive expression, 100% 98% carcinoma, 0% LSIL p16 expression. Conclusions: showed statistical correlation immunoreactivity histological type clinically significant (p value <0.0001). In our study, immunohistochemical increased increasing presence carcinoma.

Expression of C-myc Proto-oncogene in Premalignant and Malignant Uterine Cervix Lesions

The aim of the study was to assess the expression and clinical significance of C-myc proto-oncogene in the progression of cervical neoplasms. To establish the role of this proto-oncogene in uterine cervix carcinogenesis, we examined 69 tissue samples of: low grade cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions (SIL) (n=16), high grade SIL (n=11), portio vaginalis uteri (PVU) carcinoma in situ (n=11)...

Apoptotic Index and Mib-1 Antibody Expression in Premalignant and Malignant Lesions of Uterine Cervix

Introduction: Cervical cancers are the second most frequent type of female cancer, responsible for about 5% of cancer deaths in females worldwide. Recently, parameters of cell proliferation and cell death have emerged as important diagnostic and prognostic tools. Aims: The aim was to evaluate the role of Apoptotic Index and Ki-67 as proliferation marker in premalignant and malignant lesions of ...

Abnormal Fhit expression in malignant and premalignant lesions of the cervix.

Genetic analysis of cervical cancer has demonstrated frequent allelic loss in the 3p chromosomal region. The newly described gene FHIT is located at chromosome region 3p14.2, and its expression has been demonstrated previously by reverse transcription-PCR to be abnormal in a majority of cervical cancer cell lines. In this study, 98 different lesions of the cervix were examined for Fhit expressi...

Visual inspection of cervix with Lugol's iodine for early detection of premalignant & malignant lesions of cervix

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Majority of cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed at an advanced stage as cytology based screening programmes are ineffective in developing countries. The present study was done to look for carcinoma cervix and its precursors by visual inspection with Lugol's iodine (VILI), visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and Papanicolaou smear, and to analyse their sensitivity...

Correlation of P16 (Ink4a) and CK17 to HPV (16E6+18E6) in Premalignant and Malignant Lesions of Uterine Cervix: A Clinicopathologic Study

Background: This research was accomplished to evaluate the IHC expression of p16 (ink4a) and CK17 in low grade cervical intraepithelial lesions (LSIL), high grade cervical intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) and invasive cervical carcinomas and to assess their correlation to HPV (16E6+18E6). Methods: The study...
