Immune Subtyping in Latent Tuberculosis

چکیده
Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) poses a major roadblock in the global effort to eradicate (TB). A deep understanding of host responses involved establishment and maintenance TB latency is required propel development sensitive methods detect treat LTBI. Given that LTBI individuals are typically asymptomatic, it challenging differentiate latently infected from uninfected individuals. contributor this problem no clear pattern response linked with LTBI, as molecular correlates latent have been hard identify. In study, we analyzed perturbations compared particularly heterogeneity such response, across cohorts. For this, constructed individualized genome-wide networks informed by blood transcriptomes for 136 cases used network mining algorithm identify top-ranked subnetworks each case. Our analysis indicates despite high gene expression profiles among samples, patterns perturbation found immune pathways, leading grouping samples into 4 different immune-subtypes. results suggest associated tuberculosis.

Although screening, finding and treatment of active cases of tuberculosis is very important for control of disease in the community, for reaching to the goals planed by world health organization and approaching to elimination of the disease, it is necessary to find and treat persons with latent infection. متن کاملImmune responses to latent tuberculosis antigen Rv2659c in Chinese populations.
BACKGROUND The latency-associated antigen Rv2659c is a starvation-related protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis). It has potential use in tuberculosis (TB) control, but its immunological characteristics in Chinese populations are unclear. METHODS In this study, immunological characteristics and potential diagnostic use of recombinant Rv2659c protein were assessed. Interferon-...
متن کاملStratification of Latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis Infection by Cellular Immune Profiling
Background Recently acquired and remotely acquired latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (LTBI) are clinically indistinguishable, yet recent acquisition of infection is the greatest risk factor for progression to tuberculosis in immunocompetent individuals. We aimed to evaluate the ability of cellular immune signatures that differ between active tuberculosis and LTBI to distinguish recent...

متن کاملTuberculosis Infection and Latent Tuberculosis
Active tuberculosis (TB) has a greater burden of TB bacilli than latent TB and acts as an infection source for contacts. Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is the state in which humans are infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis without any clinical symptoms, radiological abnormality, or microbiological evidence. TB is transmissible by respiratory droplet nucleus of 1-5 µm in diameter, conta...
