Ileocolic intussusception in an adult secondary to ileal lipoma – case report

Intussusception is a common surgical presentation in paediatrics, however it rare adults. It reported to be the cause of as few 1% small bowel obstruction cases adults.1 Unlike majority paediatric presentations which tend idiopathic, almost all adult are secondary pathological lesions.2,3 We present case ileocolic intussusception 32-year-old male with no significant past medical history. CT abdomen and pelvis showed distal due intussusception, lipoma appearing lead point. The patient underwent right hemicolectomy, histopathology confirmed submucosal composed mature adipocytes atypical features. finding point represents intussusception.3 References 1.
