Identifying fault system and basement depth using aeromagnetic data beneath the Jahamah Platform, NE Sirt Basin, Libya

The Jahamah Platform is a part of structural depression called the Sirt basin, located in northern central Libya. spans latitude 〖29.95〗^° N to 〖30.55〗^° and longitudes 〖19.32〗^° E 〖19.77〗^° with an estimated area about 2,187 km2. Libyan Petroleum Institute provided data aeromagnetic that was used this study. study structure beneath by using Oasis montaj software. Various filters from software have been applied enhance determining fault system within area. An RTP filter magnetic construct reduction pole anomaly map. subsurface elements underneath were identified Total horizontal derivative (THD), CET analysis, Euler deconvolution. 2-D forward modelling constructed based on gravity data, then basement depth range 2.2 km 3.1 model. Based interpretation maps, has number faults trend NE-SW, NNW-SSE, N-S NW-SE ranging between 790 m 3102 m.
