Identification of Volatile Compounds of Oil Palm Flower (<i>Elaeis guineensis</i> Jacq.) with Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Based on the Difference in Time

نویسندگان

چکیده

The pollination process in oil palm is assisted by the insect Elaeidobius kamerunicus, which occurs when male and female flowers bloom producing volatile compounds that act as attractants. This study aims to identify based on differences times with gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). research steps include determining time of release flowers, extracted using steam distillation, identification GC-MS. There are different for each type flower. Three at 08:00 am, 11:00 am 14:00 pm, highest pm. Meanwhile, occurred 09:00 12:00 15:00 am. results GC-MS analysis showed 21 19 were identified, a total 38 types. Estragole dominant both types did not show significant area sum values observation. These indicated importance estragole compound palm.

Identification of aroma active compounds in orange essence oil using gas chromatography-olfactometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Using GC-MS and GC-flame ionization detection (FID)/olfactometry, 95 volatile components were detected in orange essence oil, of which 55 were aroma active. In terms of FID peak area the most abundant compounds were: limonene, 94.5%; myrcene, 1%; valencene, 0.8%; linalool, 0.7%, and octanal, decanal, and ethyl butyrate, 0.3% each. One hundred percent of the aroma activity was generated by sligh...
