Identification and Morphometric Analysis of Octopus (Cephalopods) from Coastal Area Gugop Pulo Breuh, Aceh Besar

Abstract Octopus is a commodity that has important economic value and high export value. Gugop Distric one of the producers octopus in form fresh products processed developed by Kube Mangat. It said species Indonesia are dominated cyanea , but there no scientific certainty for type this village. This study aimed to identify morphometric analysis octopus. research conducted May-July 2022. Information on resources Aceh still limited. about biology needs be known as basic information resource management. A total 35 samples were obtained, 5 key characteristics including ocellus, bluish-white spots, brown markings all over body, diamond-shaped papillae neck head. The presence false eye spots indicating . size trend based length showed 6 classes with highest 68-72 cm category, namely 9 individuals. These results indicate caught suitable capture feasibility entered reproductive period.
