چکیده
The improvement of techniques for the mass rearing predators in laboratory, including age mating is important to obtain largest number individuals biological control programs. purpose this study was evaluate females’ fecundity predator Podisus fuscescens (Dallas, 1851) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) with different pre-mating periods. females were mated immediately after emergence (T1) or one (T2), two (T3), three (T4), four (T5) five (T6) days emergence. and day emergency (T1 T2) had fewer egg clusters than those (T6). nymphs per female lower (T2) (T3). total eggs proportion hatched treatments T1 T2 T6. oviposition longevity P. similar between treatments; however, pre-oviposition period longer T5 pos-oviposition T1. require mature their reproductive system, which improves fitness avoids unnecessary mating.

Record of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) preying on Metrogaleruca obscura Degeer (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae).
Asopines are predators of insects, with several species with potential as biocontrol agents of a number of pests. Metrogaleruca obscura (Degeer), a neotropical species of Galerucini, was introduced in Malaysia, Asia, and Mauritius, Africa, to control the spread of Cordia curassavica (Boraginaceae), a native plant of the neotropics. The occurrence of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) preying on M. ob...

Immunoproteins are markers that are useful for monitoring dispersal and/or pest consumption, but current application techniques are less effective for the large guild of piercing-sucking predators important in biocontrol. We quantified the use of protein immunomarks in tracking emigration of spined soldier bug, Podisus maculiventris Say (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) and predation on the hornworm c...
متن کاملEffect of diet on male reproductive tract of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae).
The morphology and histology of the reproductive tract of males of the predator Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) fed on different diets were studied. P. nigrispinus was fed on diets of: larvae of Alabama argillacea (Hübner), Tenebrio molitor L., Musca domestica L., and an artificial diet. The male reproductive tract, independent of diet, showed testes with intense red coloration in a compact, circu...
متن کاملMorphology and Postdepositional Dynamics of Eggs of the Predator Podisus distinctus (Stål) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Asopinae).
The predator Podisus distinctus (Stål) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Asopinae) has been reared to control lepidopteran defoliators. In this study, we describe this predator's morphology, postdepositional dynamics and eggs in different developmental stages under scanning electron microscope. Its eggs are subglobular and ovoid, narrower at the base than at the top, with a convex, circular operculum...
متن کاملComparison of susceptibility of pest Euschistus servus and predator Podisus maculiventris (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) to selected insecticides.
Susceptibility of the brown stink bug, Euschistus serous (Say), and the spined soldier bug, Podisus maculiventris (Say), to acetamiprid, cyfluthrin, dicrotophos, indoxacarb, oxamyl, and thiamethoxam, was compared in residual and oral toxicity tests. Generally, susceptibility of P. maculiventris to insecticides was significantly greater than or not significantly different from that of E. servus....
