Hypoxia Conditioning for High-Altitude Pre-acclimatization

چکیده
Abstract Purpose Main purposes of pre-acclimatization by hypoxia conditioning (HC) are the prevention high-altitude illnesses and maintenance aerobic exercise performance. However, robust evidence for those effects or evidence-based guidelines exposure strategies, including recommendations to ensure safety, largely lacking. Therefore, we summarize current knowledge on physiology acclimatization HC with aim derive implications strategies before going treks expeditions. Methods Based literature search personal experience, core studies important observations have been selected in order present a balanced view process, specifically focusing HC. Results Conclusions It may be concluded that certain cases even short periods (e.g., 7 h) effective, but longer > 60 needed elicit more effects. About 300 h (intermittently applied) optimal preparation extreme altitude sojourns, although every additional hour spent confer further benefits. The inclusion hypobaric exposures (i.e., real altitude) protocols could increase their efficacy. level simulated is progressively increased individually adjusted ideally. should not terminated earlier than 1–2 weeks sojourn. Medical monitoring program strongly recommended.

High-altitude hypoxia and preeclampsia.
The influence of hypoxia (lowered arterial blood and/or tissue PO2) on fetoplacental development and the role of hypoxia in preeclampsia are major research foci in perinatal biology. While animal and cell models are of utility, we do not know whether artificial hypoxic stimuli mimic the pathological conditions attributed to hypoxic stress in vivo; we cannot distinguish the effects of hypoxia fr...

For many low-altitude (<1500 m) residents, their travel itineraries may cause them to ascend rapidly to high (>2400 m) altitudes without having the time to develop an adequate degree of altitude acclimatization. Prior to departing on these trips, low-altitude residents can induce some degree of altitude acclimatization by ascending to moderate (>1500 m) or high altitudes during either continuou...
متن کاملThromboelastometry and Platelet Function during Acclimatization to High Altitude.
Interaction between hypoxia and coagulation is important given the increased risk of thrombotic diseases in chronically hypoxic patients who reside at sea level and in residents at high altitude. Hypoxia alters the proteome of platelets favouring a prothrombotic phenotype, but studies of activation and consumption of specific coagulation factors in hypoxic humans have yielded conflicting result...

The studies of decreased barometric pressure made by Paul Bert (1) during the latter half of the nineteenth century may properly be considered as the beginning of modern knowledge of, and interest in, the effects of oxygen lack upon the human body. During the same period the rapid development of mountaineering as a sport produced a new occupational disease-altitude sickness, Or seroche as it wa...
