Hypothesis testing for a Lévy-driven storage system by Poisson sampling

چکیده
This paper focuses on hypothesis testing for the input of a Lévy-driven storage system by sampling level. As likelihood is not explicit we propose two tests that rely transformation data. The first approach uses i.i.d. ‘quasi-busy-periods’ between observations zero workload. distribution duration quasi-busy-periods determined. second method conditional ratio test based Bernoulli events observing or positive workload, previous Performance analysis presented both along with speed-of-convergence results, are independent interest.

An Euler-Poisson scheme for Lévy driven stochastic differential equations
We describe an Euler scheme to approximate solutions of Lévy driven stochastic differential equations (SDEs) where the grid points are given by the arrival times of a Poisson process and thus are random. This result extends the previous work of FerreiroCastilla et al. (2014). We provide a complete numerical analysis of the algorithm to approximate the terminal value of the SDE and prove that th...
متن کاملAcceptance sampling for attributes via hypothesis testing and the hypergeometric distribution
This paper questions some aspects of attribute acceptance sampling in light of the original concepts of hypothesis testing from Neyman and Pearson (NP). Attribute acceptance sampling in industry, as developed by Dodge and Romig (DR), generally follows the international standards of ISO 2859, and similarly the Brazilian standards NBR 5425 to NBR 5427 and the United States Standards ANSI/ASQC Z1....
متن کاملHYPOTHESIS TESTING FOR AN EXCHANGEABLE NORMAL DISTRIBUTION
Consider an exchangeable normal vector with parameters ????2, and ?. On the basis of a vector observation some tests about these parameters are found and their properties are discussed. A simulation study for these tests and a few nonparametric tests are presented. Some advantages and disadvantages of these tests are discussed and a few applications are given.
متن کاملFast Poisson Noise Removal by Biorthogonal Haar Domain Hypothesis Testing
Methods based on hypothesis tests (HTs) in the Haar domain are widely used to denoise Poisson count data. However, facing large datasets or real-time applications, Haar-based denoisers have to use the decimated transform to meet limited-memory or computation-time constraints. Unfortunately, for regular underlying intensities, decimation yields discontinuous estimates and strong “staircase” arti...
متن کاملOn Hypothesis Testing for Poisson Processes. Regular Case
We consider the problem of hypothesis testing in the situation when the first hypothesis is simple and the second one is local onesided composite. We describe the choice of the thresholds and the power functions of the Score Function test, of the General Likelihood Ratio test, of the Wald test and of two Bayes tests in the situation when the intensity function of the observed inhomogeneous Pois...
