چکیده
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) poses a financial burden on most patients from low/ middle income countries. Glycaemic control with affordable hypoglycemic agents may influence the prognosis of diabetic nephropathy. Objectives: We aimed to compare rates CKD progression and proteinuria in type 2 population response use various agents. Patients Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study total 250 Afro-Caribbean descent at University hospital West Indies between 2018 2019 was conducted. The hypoglycaemic changes albuminuria were calculated as odds ratios 95% confidence interval (CI). P value<0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: Of nephropathy, number rapid highest insulin (26.3%). In comparison, progressions receiving metformin, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4 inhibitors), sulfonylurea pioglitazone 19.1%, 22.2%, 21.9% 20%, respectively. After eliminating confounding factors, comparison within group analysis DPP-4 inhibitors (n= 171) demonstrated 62.6% significant improvement quantitative reduction mean spot urine albumin creatinine ratio (ACR) 362.1 ±338.9 mg/g 303 ±300.1 (ORs, 0.77; CI 0.41 0.97; = 0.03). Conclusion: Type requiring found have than oral Among agents, had an association albuminuria.

Retinopathy and clinical outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, and anemia
OBJECTIVE Retinopathy is an established microvascular complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but its independent relationship with macrovascular and other microvascular complications is less well defined across the spectrum of kidney disease in T2DM. We examined the prognostic value of retinopathy in assessing the risk of developing end-stage renal disease (ESRD), cardiovascular morbi...
متن کاملThe Management of Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Hypoglycemic Agents
Aims and Scope. Aims of the paper are to suggest the best treatment to improve the glycemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes using hypoglycemic agents, in particularly, we think that every patient is different from another one in terms of BMI, family history, duration of the disease and so on. We propose for every clinical aspect the best hypoglycemic agents to use, considering the scie...
متن کاملErythrocyte metformin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes and varying severity of chronic kidney disease
On the basis on a novel metformin assay, Frid et al. published clinical recommendations on use of the drug in patients with type 2 diabetes and varying severity of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The researchers stated that a threshold of 20 lmol/L (2.8 mg/L) was a ‘preliminary upper therapeutic limit’ [1]. However, the latter work can be questioned for several reasons: (i) the patients with an e...
متن کاملAssociation of Hypoglycemia With Incident Chronic Kidney Disease in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes
This article aims to investigate the long-term risk of incident chronic kidney disease (CKD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with hypoglycemia. This nationwide, population-based, propensity score (PS)-matched cohort study involved 2 cohorts: a hypoglycemic cohort and a matched cohort without hypoglycemia. Data from 1.3 million patients with newly diagnosed T2DM between 2000 and 2010 ...
