Geophysical surveys well borings revealed that ranges in thickness from 0 feet around its periphery to about 100 thickest parts. levels monitored nine wells within study area compared with earlier measurements collected 1998 1999. Comparison those part this showed decline between 5 12 has occurred last 23 years. chemistry analyzed salinity hazard, sodium-adsorption specific-ion toxicity. hazard toxicity found be low. However, high enough most areas it could negatively affect salt-sensitive crops. Well-field scenarios conducted demonstrated irrigated agriculture is theoretically but may economically challenging owing properties aquifer.

Factors Affecting Condition of Flannelmouth Suckers in the Colorado River, Grand Canyon, Arizona

—The impoundment of the Colorado River by Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona, in 1963 created a highly regulated environment in the Grand Canyon that altered the native fish populations, including the flannelmouth sucker Catostomus latipinnis. Flannelmouth suckers were sampled from 1991 to 2001 to determine seasonal, annual, and spatial trends in fish condition (i.e., relative weight [Wr]). Mean Wr peake...
