Hydrogenation and Hydrosilylation of Nitrous Oxide Homogeneously Catalyzed by a Metal Complex
Due to its significant contribution to stratospheric ozone depletion and its potent greenhouse effect, nitrous oxide has stimulated much research interest regarding its reactivity modes and its transformations, which can lead to its abatement. We report the homogeneously catalyzed reaction of nitrous oxide (N2O) with H2. The reaction is catalyzed by a PNP pincer ruthenium complex, generating ef...
متن کاملHighly Enantioselective Hydrogenation of Simple Ketones Catalyzed by a Rh ± PennPhos Complex**
The development of new chiral ligands plays a crucial role in expanding the utility of transition metal catalyzed asymmetric reactions.[1] A major research goal in asymmetric catalysis is to impart high enantioselectivity and activity to important reactions by the invention of new chiral ligands and the optimization of reaction conditions for use of these ligands. Many effective chiral bisphosp...
متن کاملSelective hydrogenation of nitriles to primary amines catalyzed by a novel iron complex.
Hydrogenation of nitriles to primary amines constitutes an atom-efficient and environmentally benign synthetic reaction. Herein we present a novel complex based on earth-abundant iron, and its application in the catalytic homogeneous hydrogenation of (hetero)aromatic, benzylic, and aliphatic nitriles to selectively form primary amines.

متن کاملLow-pressure hydrogenation of carbon dioxide catalyzed by an iron pincer complex exhibiting noble metal activity.
A highly active iron catalyst for the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide and bicarbonates works under remarkably low pressures and achieves activities similar to some of the best noble metal catalysts. A mechanism is proposed involving the direct attack of an iron trans-dihydride on carbon dioxide, followed by ligand exchange and dihydrogen coordination.
