چکیده

Hydrogen is a versatile vector for heat and power, mobility, stationary applications. Steam methane reforming coal gasification have been, until now, the main technologies H2 production, in shorter term may remain due to current costs of green H2. To minimize carbon footprint these technologies, capture CO2 emitted priority. The situ during processes, or even syngas upgrade by water–gas shift (WGS) reaction, especially profitable since it contributes an additional production This includes biomass where can also contribute negative emissions. In sorption-enhanced WGS reaction occur simultaneously, selection suitable sorbents, i.e., with high activity stability, being crucial aspect their success. review identifies describes solid sorbents more potential at medium temperatures, Ca- alkali-based Mg-based respectively. effects temperature, steam pressure on sorbents’ performance processes are discussed, as well influence catalyst–sorbent arrangement, hybrid/mixed sequential configuration.

Nitrogen enriched solid sorbents for CO2 capture

Reducing anthropogenic CO2 emissions to slow down the consequences of climate change concerns all developed countries. In the short term, one of the most viable options to cut down carbon emissions consists on CO2 capture and storage from large stationary sources such as power stations, cement plants, refineries, etc. The near-ready-to-use technology at this scale is amine scrubbing. However, i...

High Purity Hydrogen Production with in-situ CO2 and Sulfur Capture

Enhancement in the production of high purity hydrogen (H2) from synthesis gas, obtained by coal gasification, is limited by the thermodynamics of the water-gas shift reaction (WGSR). However, this constraint can be overcome by concurrent WGSR and carbonation (of calcium oxide) reaction to enhance H2 production. The carbonation of calcium oxide forming calcium carbonate incessantly drives the eq...

Monitoring solid oxide CO2 capture sorbents in action.

The separation, capture, and storage of CO2 , the major greenhouse gas, from industrial gas streams has received considerable attention in recent years because of concerns about environmental effects of increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. An emerging area of research utilizes reversible CO2 sorbents to increase conversion and rate of forward reactions for equilibrium-controlled reac...

Innovative nano-layered solid sorbents for CO2 capture.

Nano-layered sorbents for CO(2) capture, for the first time, were developed using layer-by-layer nanoassembly. A CO(2)-adsorbing polymer and a strong polyelectrolyte were alternately immobilized within porous particles. The developed sorbents had fast CO(2) adsorption and desorption properties and their CO(2) capture capacity increased with increasing nano-layers of the CO(2)-adsorbing polymer.
