Hydrogen photoproduction on TiO2-CuO artificial olive leaves

نویسندگان

چکیده

Olive leaves were used as biotemplates to synthesize diverse TiO2-CuO solids. A successful replication of trichomes and internal channels was evidenced by SEM, whereas a good dispersion Cu Ti atoms observed EDX. The systems consisted in pure anatase titania, with monoclinic CuO detected XRD Raman for large copper contents (over 15 wt%). XPS the existence strong interaction. Incorporation resulted an enhancement photocatalytic activity, hydrogen production being 84 times higher best system than bare titania. It seems that there is maximum surface content (close Cu/(Ti + Cu) mol % value 17) above which particles could promote electron-hole recombination and/or have shielding effect thus preventing light absorption smaller crystallite sizes better their reducibility catalytic performance under solar irradiation.

Optimization of Oleuropein Extraction from Olive Leaves using Artificial Neural Network

In this work, the artificial neural networks (ANN) technology was applied to the simulation of oleuropein extraction process. For this technology, a 3-layer network structure is applied, and the operation factors such as  amount  of  flow  intensity  ratio,  temperature,  residence  time,  and  pH  are  used  as  input  variables  of  the network,  whereas  the  extraction  yield  is  considere...

Artificial Photosynthesis on TiO2-Passivated InP Nanopillars.

Here, we report photocatalytic CO2 reduction with water to produce methanol using TiO2-passivated InP nanopillar photocathodes under 532 nm wavelength illumination. In addition to providing a stable photocatalytic surface, the TiO2-passivation layer provides substantial enhancement in the photoconversion efficiency through the introduction of O vacancies associated with the nonstoichiometric gr...

The effects of polyphenols in olive leaves on platelet function.

INTRODUCTION The phenolic compounds of olive leaves and olive oils in the Mediterranean diet have been associated with a reduced incidence of heart disease. Accordingly, antioxidant-rich diets may prevent the deleterious effects of oxidative metabolism by scavenging free radicals, thus inhibiting oxidation and delaying atherosclerosis. The process involves phospholipase C activation and arachid...

Photo-reduced Cu/CuO nanoclusters on TiO2 nanotube arrays as highly efficient and reusable catalyst

Non-noble metal nanoparticles are becoming more and more important in catalysis recently. Cu/CuO nanoclusters on highly ordered TiO2 nanotube arrays are successfully developed by a surfactant-free photoreduction method. This non-noble metal Cu/CuO-TiO2 catalyst exhibits excellent catalytic activity and stability for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) to 4-aminophenol (4-AP) with the presence...
