چکیده
Kinetics and mechanism of hydrogen adsorption in as-obtained ground nuclear graphite Wendelstein 7-X are examined. In the first time interval process is determined by dissociation molecule, occurring at outer surface open micropores particles. However, second interval, slowest step inter-granular inter-crystallite diffusion nanopores graphite. The X-ray analysis shows, that grinding results finer particles with nanocrystals larger density opened pores carbon reactive sites. capacity rate increase comminution adsorbed does not substantially alter microstructure

Adsorption and melting of hydrogen in potassium-intercalated graphite
Volumetric adsorption and quasielastic neutron scattering are used to study the diffusion and thermodynamics of sorbed H2 in the graphite intercalation compound KC24. A sorption enthalpy of 8.5 kJ/mol at zero coverage is determined from H2 adsorption isotherms. From measurements of total elastic-neutron-scattering intensity as a function of temperature, a melting transition of the H2 adsorbate ...
متن کاملAdsorption of para-hydrogen on krypton pre-plated graphite
Adsorption of para-hydrogen on the surface of graphite pre-plated with a single atomic layer of krypton, is studied theoretically by means of path integral ground state Monte Carlo simulations. We compute energetics and density profiles of para-hydrogen, and determine the structure of the adsorbed film for various coverages. Results show that there are two thermodynamically stable monolayer pha...
متن کاملDiffusion, adsorption, and desorption of molecular hydrogen on graphene and in graphite.
The diffusion of molecular hydrogen (H2) on a layer of graphene and in the interlayer space between the layers of graphite is studied using molecular dynamics computer simulations. The interatomic interactions were modeled by an Adaptive Intermolecular Reactive Empirical Bond Order (AIREBO) potential. Molecular statics calculations of H2 on graphene indicate binding energies ranging from 41 meV...
متن کاملDFT investigation of the adsorption of atomic hydrogen on a cluster-model graphite surface
The H-graphite interaction is studied for the first time in the framework of density functional theory. A coronene-like Ž . model of the 0001 graphite surface is considered. LSD and LSDqGGA results are presented for both a planar substrate and for considering substrate relaxation. Two adsorption regions separated by a barrier are found: a physisorption region ̊ ̊ around 3 A from the surface and a...
متن کاملHydrogen Dynamics in Magnesium and Graphite
Magnesium, nanotubes, graphitic nanofibers, and graphite represent interesting opportunities for efficient hydrogen storage applications and motivate first-principle investigations of the hydrogen energetics and dynamics that describe such potential technological usage. We present spin-polarized electron-density calculations of adsorption energies and diffusion barriers for both chemisorbed and...
