The aim of the paper is to predict hydrodynamic performance and noise generated by propeller at different advance ratio speed propeller. Three bladed, DTMB 4119 model was created using NACA66 modified line, a = 0.8 hydrofoil profile. ANSYS Workbench software used for mesh generation computational analysis. A large-eddy simulation turbulence Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FWH) acoustic all simulations. moving reference frame simulate rotational effects 792 rpm, being 0.2 m, inlet velocity varied study effect ratio. transient analysis carried out time step value 0.0005 seconds total 0.6 seconds. parameters are validated comparing with experimental data available in literature. sound pressure level (SPL) plotted over frequency range 0 1000 Hz locations, speed, an 0.5, 0.7, 0.833, 0.9,1. structural, behaviour predicted two-way fluid structure interaction 0.833. major conclusions drawn from that values increased off-design conditions varying receiver locations. this useful designers carry further research order reduce

Determining the Hydro-acoustic Characteristics of the Ship Propeller in Uniform and Non-uniform Flow
This research has been carried out to determine the marine propeller hydro-acoustic characteristics by Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) solver in both uniform and non-uniform wake flow at different operating conditions Wake flow can cause changes in pressure fluctuation and gas effect on propeller noise spectrum. Noise is generated by the induced trailing vortex wake and induced pressure ...
متن کاملComputational Analysis of Propeller Sheet Cavitation and Propeller-ship Interaction
This paper describes a computational procedure which is being developed for the practical analysis of propeller sheet cavitation and propeller-ship interaction including hull pressure fluctuations. The computational procedure consists of three different, coupled methods: (i) a RANS method for the analysis of the viscous flow around the ship hull and the determination of the velocity field in th...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effect of Free Surface on Hydrodynamic Performance of Propeller
Simulation of the flow around propeller is a complex fluid flow problem, especially when the propeller is close to free surface. In this study, the effect of different depths on the performance and efficiency of a B-Wageningen series close to surface of water have been numerically investigated. For this purpose the ANSYS-FLUENT commercial software has been used to solve the viscous, incompressi...
متن کاملhydrodynamic performance of the modern ship propulsion system
this paper presents numerical calculations for podded propulsion system using vortex theory and potential panel method. the method discretizes the surface boundary of the body (propeller +pod+strut) and obtained the vortex and propeller surface and potential on strut and pod. a model propeller and strut are considered for these calculations and the results of pressure distribution, flow field a...
متن کاملبکارگیری روش المان مرزی در طراحی سیستماتیک پروانه
Propeller is one of the main propulsors for marine vehicles which produces thrust to overcome the resistance of the ship. Propeller works in the place behind the ship where the flow is non-uniform and with three dimensional velocities, so it causes the fluctuating thrust. The first part of this paper employs the boundary element method (BEM) to evaluate and analyze the hydrodynamic performance ...
