چکیده
This paper reports on a hydro backed-up (HPBU) hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) for rural off-grid community in Kwara State Nigeria with an average demand load of 550.9 kWh (90.7 kW peak) per day. By using HOMER Pro software, the formulation and identification best reliable architecture attaining technical economic viability while nearby existing RE sources such as hydro, wind solar are appropriately modelled optimized based minimal net present cost (NPC) (COE). It was determined that three feasible configurations HPBU-HRES site have annual output ranging from 1,642,979 – 1,749,272 kWh/yr electricity (COE) range 0.34 0.64 $/kWh. The optimal (system 1) is combination 184 PV (PV), 4,545 battery capacity (BB), 81.3 converter (Conv) 277 generation (HPP). A comparison study undertaken to illustrate benefits studied systems shows about 288,116, 88,342 53, 88 kg/yr CO2 savings possible against diesel only, grid extension first equivalent engine (DEBU) respectively. In furtherance study, sensitivity analysis likely variation associated metrological parameters, components undertaken. Outcomes show 1 (PV/HPP-BB) small medium loads (?600 kWh/day), irrespective radiation. addition, it established decrease system’s total initial by half will lead decline COE $0.177 at corresponding NPC $3,029.

Renewable systems influence the process of supplying domestic electricity demands. It will be useful to replace the conventional energy generation system by renewable energy sources since the uncontrolled use of fossil fuels is accompanied by global warming and environmental hazards, in addition to the danger of their depletion, and because most of the energy derived from these fuels are used i...
متن کاملA hybrid renewable energy system for a North American off-grid community
Canada has many isolated communities that are not connected to the electrical grid. Most of these communities meet their electricity demand through stand-alone diesel generators. Diesel generators have economic and environmental concerns that can be minimized by using hybrid renewable energy technologies. This study aims to assess the implementation of a hybrid energy system for an off-grid com...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling of Hybrid Renewable Energy System: A Review on Small Hydro-Solar-Wind Power Generation
Harnessing energy from alternative energy source has been recorded since early history. Renewable energy is abundantly found anywhere, free of cost and has non-polluting characteristics. However, these energy sources are based on the weather condition and possess inherited intermittent nature, which hinders stable power supply. Combining multiple renewable energy resources can be a possible sol...
متن کاملOptimal power generation and load management for off-grid hybrid power systems with renewable sources via mixed-integer programming
This paper addresses the optimal power generation and load management problems in off-grid hybrid electric systems with renewable sources based on appropriately constructed optimization problems. In this venue, the capacity and operating constraints for generating, storage and load units are first formulated as mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) models. In addition, we integrate the power ...
