چکیده
It is not uncommon for mining activity to generate wastes associated with negative engineering impacts include susceptibility runoff due the absence of vegetation, erosion, and sinkhole. Due their high degree permeability, movement heavy metal contaminants in waste soils aquifers occurs actively along hydrogeological parameters, research on using biocementation methods such as enzyme induced calcite precipitation (EICP) reduce hydraulic conductivity therefore beneficial. Mine soil collected from a copper mine Lohan Dam, Sabah characterized physically, morphologically, chemically then treated EICP under different operational parameters curing duration (1,3,7 days), temperatures (5, 10, 25 o C ), relative density (70 80 %). The was tested constant head permeability test calcium carbonate content (%) determined HCL washing method. Properties Dam are found be predominantly coarse grain low plasticity, specific gravity, acidic nature, organic content. Morphologically, they composed powdered hardened particles dark brown color amount irregular-shaped particles. Mineralogical, contain level metals beyond safety Department Environmental Malaysia. treatment had change ‘high medium’ ‘low’ 94-97% reduction corresponding produced ranging 6.94-9.63%. In conclusion, shows marginal effect, duration, temperature more significant impact effectiveness.

Removal of Heavy Metal from Contaminated Soil with Chelating Agents
Removal of copper and nickel by the addition of the biodegradable chelating agent, chitosan and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), was investigated, alongside the reaction of a reference compound sodium citrate for comparison. The artificial-contaminated soils were used in this study. The experiments showed that the extraction ability for copper and nickel from the contaminated soil decre...
متن کاملRemediation of soil contaminated with the heavy metal (Cd2+).
Soil contamination by heavy metals is increasing. The biosorption process for removal of the heavy metal Cd(2+) from contaminated soil is chosen for this study due to its economy, commercial applications, and because it acts without destroying soil structure. The study is divided into four parts (1) soil leaching: the relationships between the soil leaching effect and agitation rates, solvent c...
متن کاملReducing Agents Enhanced Electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) for Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil
Reducing agents-Enhanced electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) was performed for the removal of chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) from contaminated soil. The reducing agents oxalic acid and ascorbic acid were investigated under constant voltage gradient (2.0 V/cm), current changes, pH, redox potential, concentration changes and removal performance of Heavy Metals (HMs). The result...
متن کاملFractional distribution and risk assessment of heavy metal contaminated soil in vicinity of a lead/zinc mine
The pollution characteristics of Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu and Ni in soil of lead−zinc mining area were studied. The results indicate that the contamination degree followed the sequence of Cd>Pb>Zn>Ni>Cu and concentrations of Pb, Cd and Zn exceeded corresponding limits of the Chinese National Soil Environmental Quality Standard III. The soil was extremely polluted by Cd (Iego=5.26), moderately to heavily ...
متن کاملHeavy metal contamination in soil and some medicinal plant species in Ahangaran lead-zinc mine, Iran
Ahangaran lead-zinc mining area located in the west part of Iran is a mountainous region. In this study, medical plants and soils from 3 different sites in this area were collected in spring 2012. Soil and medical plants were analyzed for heavy metals [lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd) and copper (Cu)] concentrations using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometer (Varian ...
