Hybridization and Factors Influencing Seed Set in Oat

Background: Oat is mostly neglected crop for hybrid development due to its floral structure which results in high damage rate during hybridisation. Due the cumbersome acquiring a sufficient number of hybrids and subsequent backcrosses are difficult that lead lack much inheritance studies Oats. Methods: The procedure crossing used was almost identical by oat breeders conducted 2 years viz., 2019-20 2020-21 at Forage Station, Punjab Agriculrural University, Ludhiana. Result: experiment know seed set percent cultivars. Since flower fragile compared other cereals it easily harmed emasculation pollination process. observed only 12 10 year 2020-21, respectively.
