Hybrid Taguchi Based Grey Algorithm for Multi Objective Optimization of Gas Metal Arc Welded DP1000 Steel

Euro-6 norms for reduction of CO2 emissions and ECE-R66-01 regulation safer passenger transportation became legislative obligations bus builders. These two adaptations increase the weight a as nearly 600kg which also increases fuel consumption 1.5-3%. Dual phase (DP) steels can compensate these by decreasing thickness components. Because, ferrite provides steel with good formability martensite hardness ultimate tensile strength in DP steels. This study focused on multi response hybrid optimization gas metal arc welding (GMAW) DP1000 to determine optimal parametric combination gives maximum (UTS, MPa) joint efficiency (JE) under minimum heat input (Q, kj/mm). Nine experimental trials is based orthogonal array suggested Taguchi method was carried out investigate objective functions range GMAW parameters such voltage (U, volt), speed (V, mm/min) wire feed rate (f, m/min). The continued Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) overcome multi-objective model. Finally, variance (ANOVA) has been used significance responses UTS, JE Q. shows flexible applicability GRA find effect each process onto individual responses.
