Human Resource Development Oriented Performance Appraisal System in Armed Police Force, Nepal

Human Resource Management (HRM) involves managing and developing the workforce, while Development (HRD) optimizes performance, fosters growth, aligns HR practices with employee needs. Performance Appraisal (PA) is vital for HRD, identifying strengths, development areas, fostering optimizing organizational performance. The research employed a descriptive design sequential explanatory method, gathering quantitative data from 74 qualitative 25 respondentsout of 1741 officers in Armed Police Force, Nepal (APF). Both inferential statistics were used to examine as well thematic analysis was executed study performance appraisal system APF focusing on its alignment HRD principles. reveals that has an climate oriented towards principles system. However, significant improvements are needed enhance system's effectiveness fairness. further highlights importance monitoring process linking results other mechanisms comprehensive HRD-oriented PA suggests implementing training appraisers, improving review frequency, incorporating potential appraisal, adopting more systematic objective evaluation foster fair growth-oriented environment. These findings have applications enhancing promoting within organization since emphasized strong system, regular feedback, process, ultimately growth development.
