چکیده

Abstract With the recurrence of high-impact extreme events and growing public demands to understand causes events, event attribution has emerged as a frontier climate change research. Typically, an study focuses on one individual that just occurred. Studies rarely examine human influence multiple in different times past. Here we conduct comprehensive analysis four heaviest precipitation Yangtze River Valley during past 100 years. We start by defining over fixed size area is direct relevance flood preparedness management. When examining historical time, allow precise location By definition, extremely strong are identified, they happened summer 1931, 1954, 1998 2020. find impacts greenhouse gases (GHGs) anthropogenic aerosols (AAs) these show clear difference time period. The were negligible early period became more discernible since late 20th century. GHGs have gradually increased occurrence probability precipitaiton while AAs decreased extrem precipitation. These competing effects from led slight then increasing time. exerted larger short-duration had monthly mean event, clearer influence.

Detection of the Three Gorges Dam influence on the Changjiang (Yangtze River) submerged delta

While most large river-deltas in the world are facing the risk of subsidence and erosion in the Anthropocene, it is suspected that the Changjiang submerged delta (CSD) could be subjected to the impacts of the world's largest dam, the Three Gorges Dam (TGD). Here we firstly indicate that the CSD went through high accumulation (1958-1978); slight accumulation (1978-1997), slight erosion (1997-200...

The Impact of Yangtze River Discharge, Ocean Currents and Historical Events on the Biogeographic Pattern of Cellana toreuma along the China Coast

AIM Genetic data were used to measure the phylogeographic distribution of the limpet, Cellana toreuma along the China coast in order to acsertain impacts of historic events, ocean currents and especially freshwater discharge from the Yangtze River on the connectivity of intertidal species with limited larval dispersal capability. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Genetic variation in 15 populati...
