Summary Cryptosporidiosis is a disease caused by the protozoan of the genus cryptosporidium and is characterized by gastroenteritis and respiratory symptoms in humans. In an investigation on 140 human faecal samples from urummie town of west Azarbyejan area, the role of cryptosporidium in causing diarrhea in adults and children has been demonstrated and the results discussed.
