Head Gesture Recognition using Optical Flow based Classification with Reinforcement of GMM based Background Subtraction
This paper describes a technique of real time head gesture recognition system. The method includes Gaussian mixture model (GMM) accompanied by optical flow algorithm which provided us the required information regarding head movement. The proposed model can be implemented in various control system. We are also presenting the result and implementation of both mentioned method.
متن کاملAction Recognition based on Subdivision-Fusion Model
This paper proposes a novel Subdivision-Fusion Model (SFM) to recognize human actions. In most action recognition tasks, overlapping feature distribution is a common problem leading to overfitting. In the subdivision stage of the proposed SFM, samples in each category are clustered. Then, such samples are grouped into multiple more concentrated subcategories. Boundaries for the subcategories ar...
متن کاملHuman Action Recognition Using Gaussian Mixture Model based Background Segmentation
Video surveillance has long been in use to monitor security sensitive areas such as banks, department stores, highways, crowded public places and borders. The increase in the number of cameras in ordinary surveillance systems overloaded both the human operators and the storage devices with high volumes of data and made it infeasible to ensure proper monitoring of sensitive areas for long times....
متن کاملSpatiotemporal Background Subtraction Using Minimum Spanning Tree and Optical Flow
Background modeling and subtraction is a fundamental research topic in computer vision. Pixel-level background model uses a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) or kernel density estimation to represent the distribution of each pixel value. Each pixel will be process independently and thus is very efficient. However, it is not robust to noise due to sudden illumination changes. Region-based background ...
متن کاملFusion of Human Posture Features for Continuous Action Recognition
This paper presents a real-time or online system for continuous recognition of human actions. The system recognizes actions such as walking, bending, jumping, waving, and falling and relies on spatial features computed to characterize human posture. The paper evaluates the utility of these features based on its joint or independent treatment within the context of the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) f...
