How ethnic studies faculty use streaming video: Instructional needs, applications, and challenges

While there have been studies on faculty use of streaming video resources in academic libraries, none focused the specific needs ethnic faculty. Using a thematic analysis semi-structured interviews with 13 from two public university campuses, this study found that engagement is based upon pedagogical strategy responds to demands and goals curricula, while centering student by using free whenever possible. Within paradigm, choose three categories content: key primary secondary sources; flexible supporting current topics interest. Understanding what motivates could be helpful as librarians work vendors advocate for content best meets instructional needs. Librarians can also help improve faculty's outcomes communicating about licensing options media availability through library.
