How does livestock graze management affect woodland soil health?

چکیده
Soil is the fundamental component of each terrestrial ecosystem, so consequences land management regime on soil health and productivity should be evaluated. To this end, long term effects livestock grazing were studied in three systems north-eastern Iran, comprising unlimited grazing, managed a rangeland where was prohibited. First, properties including pH, EC, bulk density contents phosphorus, potassium calcium soils subject to regimes compared. Then, seasonal variations organic carbon, total nitrogen, microbial respiration (BR SIR), carbon nitrogen biomass (MBC MBN), fungal AMF ( Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi) spore at sites. Several stoichiometric indicators also phosphorus found drastically decline (by around 40%) response while acidity slightly increased under that regime, comparison with managed-grazing grazing-excluded rangelands. Season had significant impacts all variables. Although content increased, presumably due urine, variables declined grazed sites, which ones lower plant cover. A higher AFM observed rhizosphere Artemisia aucheri , most frequent plant, lands grazing. Based these results, strongly recommended rather than any kind or continuous

How Does Retirement Affect Health?
How Does Retirement Affect Health? This paper investigates the effects of retirement on various health outcomes. Data stem from the first three waves of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA). With this informative data, non-parametric matching methods can be applied to identify causal effects. It is found that retirement significantly increases the risk of being diagnosed with a chron...
متن کاملHow Does Monetary Policy Affect Household Income Distribution?
Over the last decades the research on monetary policy has largely concentrated on the impact of monetary authorities’ decisions on inflation and the fine-tuning of the macroeconomic, so that distributional effects of monetary policy which are non-trivial has been ignored. A view that has become increasingly popular since the financial crisis 2008 is that expansionary monetary policy can exacerb...
متن کاملCTO Pathophysiology: How Does this Affect Management?
UNLABELLED Chronic total occlusion (CTO) pathophysiology has been described in a few, small studies using post mortem histology, and more recently, in vivo intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to analyse the constituents of occluded segments. Recent improvements in equipment and techniques have revealed new insights into physical characteristics of occluded coronaries, which in turn enable predictab...
متن کاملDoes Soil Disturbance Affect Soil Phosphorus Fractions?
Increased turnover of organic matter as a result of soil disturbance (e.g. by soil tillage) is described in principle, but the direct influence of soil disturbance on soil P turnover especially for organic farming systems has not been sufficiently proven. The objective of the study was to evaluate the short term effect of soil disturbance on different soil P fractions in a soil shaking experime...
متن کاملHow does fire intensity and frequency affect miombo woodland tree populations and biomass?
Miombo woodlands are the largest savanna in the world and dominate southern Africa. They are strongly influenced by anthropogenic fires and support the livelihoods of over 100 million people. Managing the fire regime of these flammable systems is difficult, but crucial for sustaining biodiversity, ecosystem services, and carbon stocks. Fire intensity is more easily manipulated than fire frequen...
