How Do Social Partnerships Construct Social Problems? A Social-Symbolic Work Perspective

In the world of social partnerships, one important research puzzle that still remains is concerned with how partners construct problems partnership intended to address. To explore this, we draw upon social-symbolic work literature defines it as purposeful carried out by individuals or groups influence objects (Lawrence & Phillips, 2019), and ask following: How does way in which members problem? Also, this outcomes partnerships? Comparing two case studies address gender inequality Turkey, found relational practice influenced construction issue. Our findings illustrate extensive in-depth led embedded problem (i.e. where considered multi-layered interdependencies structures complex societal cultural dynamics surrounding problem). contrast, limited shallow disembedded problem, overlooked complex, interrelated context created, consistently influenced, problem. Overall, our contributes on issues unpacking process partnerships highlighting lived experience emphasizing embodied human work.
