Housing and occupant health: Findings from Vietnam

Abstract This paper investigates how poor-quality housing affects Vietnamese individuals’ health, measured using the number of sick days, which directly productivity and economic growth. Our analysis addresses endogeneity issues generally ignored in previous studies. We provide evidence, robust to various alterations that, absence an indoor water tap homeownership, harmful cooking fuel type, poor physical structure dwelling have adverse impacts on health. findings indicate that effects health arise from a larger spectrum rural areas compared urban areas. also find intensity deprived conditions has non-linear relationship with suggesting even some degree assistance can beneficial impact study provides useful policy guides informs healthy living practices.
