Host age and surrounding vegetation affect the community and colonization rates of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in a temperate grassland

چکیده
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are important symbionts for the majority of terrestrial vascular plants, yet drivers compositional variation in AMF communities need to be better understood. What effects does ontogenetic stage host plants have and do these differ between plant functional groups? Are modified by properties surrounding vegetation, such as proportion different groups or nonmycorrhizal ? We addressed questions a temperate grassland studied using next-generation sequencing light microscopy, evaluating their composition, taxonomic, phylogenetic diversity, traits root colonization levels. found differences diversity seedlings adults which larger than among species groups. The affected community composition increased its richness. Our results highlight further investigating existence common mycelial networks. decision use experimental work can affect more chosen species.

Caspian Coastal Forests: Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Understory Vegetation
Moist and temperate Caspian forests are associated with a diversity of soil types and topography. Although, natural history and ecological attributes of the Caspian vegetation is well-documented, little is known about mycorrhizae of the Caspian (Hyrcanian) flora. Samples of herbaceous plant species were collected from 4 pre-determined altitudes (-13 upto about 1500m above sea level, appro...
متن کاملMitigation of chilling and freezing stresses through colonization with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in spring barley
Cold stress is an important limiting factor for cereal production. Barley is a host species for arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) with a high genetic diversity in response to cold stress. In order to explore the mechanisms for the ameliorative effect of AMF under cold stress, an experiment was undertaken using completely randomized block design with three factors including temperature treatme...
متن کاملColonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal and fine endophytic fungi in herbaceous vegetation in the Canadian High Arctic
The occurrence of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi was surveyed along a latitudinal gradient in Arctic Canada including Banks Island (73°N), Devon Island (74°N), Ellesmere Island (76°N), and the Magnetic North Pole at Ellef Ringnes Island (78°N). At Banks Island, AM fungi were present and colonized at a high intensity in all specimens of Potentilla hookeriana Lehm. – Potentilla pulchella R.Br....
متن کاملDo Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Affect Metallothionein
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are the most widespread root fungal symbionts, forming associations with the vast majority of plant species. Ectomycorrhizal development alters gene expression in plant symbionts. In this work we examined the effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi spores on the growth and development of Brassica and on the expression of BnMT2 in winter rape. In a pot experiment, rap...
متن کاملRoles of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Soil Abiotic Conditions in the Establishment of a Dry Grassland Community
BACKGROUND The importance of soil biota in the composition of mature plant communities is commonly acknowledged. In contrast, the role of soil biota in the early establishment of new plant communities and their relative importance for soil abiotic conditions are still poorly understood. AIMS AND METHODS The aim of this study was to understand the effects of soil origin and soil fungal communi...
